Why is REAL America REAL stupid?

Why is REAL America REAL stupid?

Sarah Palin talked about how proud she was to be in the "real" America, a reference to the idea that rural people hold themselves to a higher standard, that they are the backbone of the country.

The truth is, there are two Americas and to simplify the delineation between the two Americas, I am going to use "The Boss". Bruce Springsteen's, "Born in the USA" is a perfect barometer of the intelligence of the two Americas. Sarah Palin, the Tea Partiers, and every other retarded Republican listen to this song and hear only the chorus, the chant, the part that is easy to remember. These people take that chant and twist it into a ballad that they want to hear, they want to believe in, sort of like what they do with the Bible, Constitution, and Declaration of Independence. None of them listen to the actual words of the song.

The other America, the "elitists", the uppity, the intelligent hear and see this song for exactly what it is, a chastising of a country that turns its back on the soldiers it sent off to a foreign land to fight a war that should never have been started. The lyrics themselves are not immensly important, but the idea that one group of people takes a line from the song, in this case the chorus, and glorifies the same country that the song actually chastises shows the stupidity, the intentional ignorance, of the Real America.

Like every other idea, song, document, right, or thought. The Real America twists it into their own fucked up belief system, ignoring the facts, the sentiments, and the intent of the real meaning. Even when the words are right in front of them.
